Total Acquired Cost (TAC)

SMC’s definition of TAC is the accumulated cost to produce an end product from initial sourcing through its delivery and ultimate performance for customers. This measurement takes into account not only purchase costs, but the various related costs of approving and maintaining suppliers, storage/handling, product delivery, inventory investment, shrinkage and obsolescence, as well as the cost of quality for all users.
